Turmeric: medicine?

It has been established that turmeric can be used for the treatment of various diseases and symptoms.

It is great for detoxifying the liver and allows it to function more effectively in the elimination of the unwanted substances from the body.

It also stimulates the metabolism in order to help weight loss and can help to treat various conditions such as depression, psoriasis and arthritis.

Below, you can find a recipe on how to make a turmeric juice, with which you will be able to feel the theme of its benefits.

Necessary ingredients:

  •  5-7 cm of turmeric root
  • 5-7 pieces of tamarind
  • 2 lemons
  •  Honey (according to taste)
  •  1.5l of water

Instructions:

The peel of the turmeric root needs to be removed, and then you need to wash it and cut into small pieces. The turmeric skin needs to be removed.

Put water in the pot along with turmeric and boil for 20 minutes. The water needs to become golden. While the turmeric is boiling, take a second pot and place about 2.5 cm of water with tamarind. Mix with a wooden spoon in order to allow the fruit to melt.

When the mixture looks smooth and the seeds are out, remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool down. Pour the liquid with turmeric in a blender and add the tamarind mixture (that you previously strained through a strainer to remove the seeds). Squeeze a juice of one lemon.

Blend the mixture well and put it into jars. Add honey for taste, and store it in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.

If you drink this juice every day, you will get all the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits that the turmeric can offer.
