- 5-7 cm of turmeric root
- 5-7 pieces of tamarind
- 2 lemons
- Honey (according to taste)
- 1.5l of water
The peel of the turmeric root needs to be removed, and then you need to wash it and cut into small pieces. The turmeric skin needs to be removed.
Put water in the pot along with turmeric and boil for 20 minutes. The water needs to become golden. While the turmeric is boiling, take a second pot and place about 2.5 cm of water with tamarind. Mix with a wooden spoon in order to allow the fruit to melt.
When the mixture looks smooth and the seeds are out, remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool down. Pour the liquid with turmeric in a blender and add the tamarind mixture (that you previously strained through a strainer to remove the seeds). Squeeze a juice of one lemon.
Blend the mixture well and put it into jars. Add honey for taste, and store it in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
