Natural Ways to Ease Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a condition caused by a compressed nerve in the carpal tunnel. The main symptoms of this syndrome are: numbness, tingling, and pain in the hand, hand weakness and swollen feeling in the fingers.

Here are some natural ways to ease the symptoms:

1.Ice

Apply an ice pack to your wrist and it will help you soothe the inflammation and ease the pain. Leave the ice pack to stay for 10 minutes and you will feel instant relief. Repeat this several times a day.

2.Heat

In some cases heat treatment is better option than ice. You need to soak your hands in hot water for 15 minutes before you go to sleep.

3.Wrist Stretches

With wrist stretch you can open the compressed area and relieve the symptoms.

You should raise your arms in front of you, parallel to the floor and make fists with both hands. Inhale and when you exhale bend your wrists. Hold it for 7 seconds and then repeat it. Do this 10 times.

4.Thumb Stretch

If your thumb is affected by the carpal tunnel you should try to stretch it too.

Place your left hand on a flat surface and spread your fingers wide. With your right take hold of your thumb and stretch it. Hold the position fir 10 seconds and then repeat. Do this 10 times.

5.Castor Oil

You can use castor oil to reduce the inflammation and the pan. Apply warm castor oil to your hand and fingers and massage them gently for 15 minutes. You can repeat this several times a day.

6.Epson Salt

This salt has anti-inflammatory properties and relaxes our muscles.

In warm water add 1 cup Epson salt and mix it well. Soak your hands in it for 15 minutes. Repeat this 3 times a day.
