Baking Soda

Baking soda is known as sodium bicarbonate and it is a base mineral that creates carbon dioxide when it is mixed with acidic ingredients.

If you add it in your recipes you will also need something acid such as yogurt, buttermilk, lemon juice or cream of tartar.

Baking soda is stronger than baking powder, so it not neutralize, it gives a metallic taste.

You should add ¼ of baking soda for one cup of flour in your recipes.

Baking Power

Baking Power is a combination of various acids like baking soda, cream of tartar and cornstarch.

If you use it in your recipes you should add a teaspoon of baking powder per 1 cup of flour.
