One of the most serious and life treating medical condition is the heart attack. This condition is caused by the lack of blood supply to the heart.

CHD or coronary heart disease is a condition in which the blood vessels which supply the heart with blood are clogged. The vessels are clogged by the accumulations of cholesterol or also known as plaques.

The heart attack is caused when one of these plaques blows up causing the formation of a blood clot which can reduce or totally block the blood supply to the heart which is the cause for heart attack to occur.

The symptoms of the heart attack can be very different or may not be experienced at all. It was believed that the most common sign of heart attack is chest pain which feels like the chest are being squeezed by some heavy object. The pain can also spread to the neck, jaw, arms and back. Other symptoms of this condition are nausea, cold sweats, shortness of breath and lightheadedness.

Besides all the symptoms which characterize this condition more than 25% of the heart attacks are without any symptoms or as the experts call them silent heart attacks.  This is the reason why people don`t react immediately and don’t seek professional help and this is why huge percentage of heart attacks are deadly.

One well- known American cardiologist, Dr. Chauncey Crandall, who was working for years on this medical problem trying to find ways for prevention of heart attack, reveals that actually the heart shows warning signs days and even weeks before the heart attack occurs.

Heart disorders can cause accumulation of water in the ankles and feet making them swell. People usually don`t pay attention thinking that the swelling is caused by excessive sitting or standing. This can cause people to lose appetite but simultaneously gain weight.

People who suffered a heart attack reported that they had anxiety attack before the heart attack occurred. On the other side anxious people often mistake the anxiety attack with heart attack. Nevertheless it`s highly recommended to consult a doctor when this occurs just to be sure what you are dealing with.

Pain in other body parts

The most common sigh of heart attack is chest pain which spreads to other parts of the body like neck, jaw, elbows, abdomen, arms and shoulders. Pain in the bladder and arms are other very common signs of this condition.

Other sign of heart attack is coughing. People who suffer from failure of the heart cough up a substance which is like mucus sometimes even mixed with blood and this is common in case of a lung infection or pneumonia. Coughing is caused by the accumulated fluids in the lungs which cause difficulty breathing.

One of the most important things to remember is never to ignore the signs which your body sends and just wait for them to go away. If you notice even one of these signs consult your doctor immediately or go to the ER. If you are not allergic to aspirin you can take one as prevention.
