We Drink It Every Day Even Though it Causes Cancer!

According to a study done by Kaiser Permanente researchers, women who are diagnosed with early-stage of breast cancer and consume full-fat dairy products after diagnosis are more likely to die than women who consume low-fat dairy products after diagnosis.

Breast cell growth and growth of hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer cells are stimulated by the hormone estrogen. Estrogen is created and stored in fat cells.

According to many researchers, the dairy products in the United States and other Western countries have high levels of estrogen and progesterone.

They have this opinion because most of the milk that is used to make the dairy products is produced by pregnant cows. Since most of the fat has been removed, it might be possible that low-fat dairy products have lower levels of estrogen and progesterone.

If you are a woman who is diagnosed with breast cancer, especially hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer, it will be better for you to consume low-fat dairy products.

With this study the researchers wanted to see will the risk of breast cancer resistance be increased by the consumption of full-fat dairy products.


They also wanted to find out if there are any risks of dying from breast cancer by having a diet that is filled with these types of products.

In this study they used the following full-fat dairy products:

  • Whole milk
  • Condensed or evaporated milk
  • Pudding
  • Ice-cream
  • Custard
  • Flan
  • Cheese
  • Yogurt
  • Butter

The women who participated in this study were followed for about 12 years. The researchers discovered that those women who consumed one or more servings of full-fat dairy products per day had a 64% higher risk of dying.

They also concluded that these women had a 49% higher risk of dying from breast cancer compared to those women who consumed low-fat dairy products or did not consume dairy products at all.

This study does not prove that dairy products can be a cause of cancer even though there is a connection between the consumption of full-fat dairy products and worse breast cancer outcomes. A lot more research is needed in order to prove that scientifically.

You will have to do everything you can to minimize the risk of recurrence and improve the chances of survival if you have been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.

You will do that if you follow these tips:

  • Improve your diet by excluding processed food and sugar
  • Avoid drinking alcohol
  • Maintain a healthy weight
  • Exercise everyday
  • Stop smoking
  • Stay on track with any medicine you take in order to reduce the risk of recurrence
